New Views in Mendham
One of our favorite customers enlisted our Lead Designer, Erik, to help with two areas posing different challenges. After losing several Blue Spruce trees to disease, the front roadway no longer provided any buffer from passing cars. Erik artfully placed Green Giant Arborvitae in between deer-resistant understory shrubs to create an inviting entry that also provides a sense of enclosure.
In the backyard, extremely overgrown Inkberry Hollies needed to be replaced while maintaining a screening effect for the pool equipment nestled into the stone wall behind them. Erik arranged a “grove” of 48 inch tall Compact Japanese Hollies to create a softer buffer than a harsh wall of plantings. The juxtaposition of the deep green hollies next the purple-red fall color of the Landmark Rhododendrons is truly stunning!
