A Woodland Shade Garden in Berkeley Heights
These homeowners had become quite frustrated with their heavily-shaded front yard and degraded soil that was preventing successful plantings. Erik realized they required some of the best deep shade-tolerant shrubs (along with mushroom compost to reinvigorate the soil!). After transplanting an overgrown, Pieris at their front stoop, Erik worked in Prelude Pieris, Coast Leucothoe, Little Henry® Virginia sweetspire, and Green Mountain Boxwood with a meandering bed of Pink Rheinland Astilbe and Himalayan Sweetbox along the walkway.
