- Appeal: Little Gem Norway Spruce is an excellent dwarf and compact cultivar. It has dark evergreen needle foliage, densely grown into a low mounded shrub. Very low maintenance. Good to use to create low borders, line edges/walkways or in between larger shrubs to fill in gaps. Deer resistant.
